How We Use Donations

How We Use Your Donations

Have you ever wondered how the funds you so generously give help support Magnolia Speech School? Your funds are used in the following ways – to expand our services, provide children with quality classroom instruction, and support tuition for students. See below for a more detailed breakdown:

Tuition Assistance

Magnolia Speech School supplements at least 2/3 of the tuition cost of each child per year. The total cost of per child is approximately $36,000/year; however, the max each child pays is $12,000 per year and some even less.

Magnolia Speech School has always served a diverse population – racially, culturally, and economically – because every child deserves the best education and chance to thrive in life. To help supplement approximately 2/3 of each child’s tuition, we annually raise over $1 million in scholarship funds to help all children afford our program.

Classrooms and Teachers Support

Did you know that classroom costs equals approximately $10,476 per month?

The staff of Magnolia Speech School is highly educated with most teachers and assistants having master’s degrees. Our specialized staff feels “called“ to this work, are extremely experienced, and passionate about their work. While we wish to continue to increase pay structure, we are happy to offer them, at the very least, salaries in the range of those in the public schools in Mississippi.

Therapy Services and Clinic Needs

Did you know that a gift of $250 will cover the cost of therapy for a child for one month?

Each child who attends Magnolia Speech School receives some form of therapy in addition to their specialized curriculum. Our clinic features state-of-the-art technology, furnishings, therapy and audiological equipment, and computers to conduct the therapy sessions. Therapies offered include speech, audition, occupational, physical, and dyslexia services.

Scholarships

By giving to Magnolia Speech School, you are helping to fund scholarships for children who cannot afford to attend without financial assistance. There are multiple scholarships available based on need. We are happy to offer the ESA, Nate Rogers Scholarship, and Dyslexia Therapy Scholarship, in addition to internal scholarships created by some of our wonderful supporters – Bledsoe-Holifield, Parker LifeShare, and Dr. Ralph and Willie Sneed Scholarship Fund.

Capital and Capacity Improvements

These are one-time costs that help us to maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment. Projects listed in this category include basic expansion efforts to meet known demand, as well as regular building/grounds maintenance needs. Examples of needs include new carpet or basic storage space.
