Out-patient services
The clinic at Magnolia Speech School offers clinical services (one-on-one therapy) in auditory training, speech/language instruction, occupational therapy and academic tutoring. Children with moderate disorders and those who are on Magnolia's waiting list are eligible for these services .

Early Intervention
Magnolia Speech School has a tradition of offering hope and fresh opportunities to children with hearing impairment. We can begin our work with children at birth and early detection/intervention play important roles in the extent to which communication skills can be developed or recovered. Magnolia Speech School has an excellent referral program and encourages strong relationships between parents and the medical community. Parents who suspect a hearing loss in their children are always encouraged to consult with Magnolia. In our diagnostic evaluation center, we offer screenings for hearing loss, as well as, speech and language disorders. A licensed, certified audiologist conducts evaluations for possible hearing loss. Our audiologist is also a hearing aid specialist who can dispense hearing aids for children and adults. If need for an implant is indicated, an appropriate referral is made. In addition to complete audiological services, a certified speech pathologist performs a complete speech/language evaluation, which includes any combination of oral/facial exams, articulation testing, receptive and expressive language testing, and assessment of voice and fluency. The testing team and other Magnolia staff administer developmental, psychological, achievement and other testing instruments as needed. We then work with parents and make recommendations for treatment and/or therapy. We can draw upon all appropriate resources necessary and make outside referrals.

Audiological Services
Magnolia Speech School's pediatric audiologists provide daily monitoring, maintenance, and repairs to all amplification devices, routine tympanometry, a complete loaner aid program, as well as, weekly individual auditory training for our hearing-impaired students. Cochlear implant habilitation and rehabilitation is provided for our students on an individual, weekly basis and mapping of implants is done onsite. .

Audiological services are also offered to the public through Magnolia's Speech and Hearing Clinic. Through the clinic we offer hearing evaluations, hearing aid dispensing, monitoring, repairs and maintenance services. We also provide outpatient cochlear implant habilitation and rehabilitation for children and adults.

Speech and Language Services

Evaluation services are an integral part of the programming. Diagnostic and therapeutic services are also available for hearing-impaired and cochlear implanted children and adults not enrolled in the school.

A full time Occupational Therapist and a certifired OT assistant offers Magnolia's students fine motor and sensory therapy as needed. This gifted therapist offers classroom support, in-services other staff to understand/address motor and sensory deficits and regularly works hands-on with individual children.

Assessment
All children at Magnolia Speech School are assessed on an annual basis by their clinical team of teacher, audiologist, and speech therapist, using standardized tests. These results are incorporated into the development of an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) for each academic year for the students enrolled in the classrooms. For our children, birth to three, who are enrolled in our Parent-infant Program, an Individual Family Service Plan is developed. These form the basis for each student's educational program, and are used for tracking and reporting progress every 9 weeks. The reports are also reviewed annually with parents
